How to keep today’s mall construction design competitive.
For many people, the mall is the epicenter of fun. Malls include practical stores where you can find necessary items to make your house a home as well as family-friendly activities. Before this type of fun comes to life, however, it’s critical for every mall owner to take certain steps to ensure that you are designing or remodeling a top-of-the-line attraction that every shopper will love.
The design experts at All American Facility Maintenance, are trained in planning and constructing malls. Our experience has given us unique insight when it comes to the building phase. If you are planning for a mall construction or renovation, here are some helpful suggestions to keep in mind.
Think about your clientele
The mall is a place that people of all ages frequent throughout the year which is why it’s critical to ensure that you have a good mix of stores and attractions scattered throughout the mall. You should always make sure that your mall features a little something for everyone. Try to incorporate a play area for toddlers and younger children into your design or offer space to family-friendly stores.
Older or handicap customers, on the other hand, may appreciate having access to scooters to navigate easily around the premises.
The importance of food
Every successful mall is known for a mix of details. One of the most important attributes of any mall is whether it has restaurants or a food court for consumers to sit, relax and eat for a few minutes. Providing patrons with a place to eat means that they spend more time at your mall which could lead to overall greater sales. Customers don’t have to worry about leaving the property when they get hungry and can take a break on-site for a few minutes before returning to their shopping.
When designing your mall, try to create space for both standalone restaurants and a food court that offers a variety of different foods. If your customers have a wide range of food to choose from, they are more likely to find something that suits their taste.
There is nothing worse to a consumer than arriving at the mall only to find that there is no place to park. Limited parking results in one of two results for your customers. First, he or she ends up driving around the lot until a spot opens which can leave him or her frustrated before they step foot into the mall. This does not bode well for an enjoyable shopping experience.
Other customers, however, may not have the time to wait to look for a parking spot. If a consumer cannot find a spot quickly, he or she may be inclined to turn around and find someplace else to shop.
